Firelite Heat Resistant Glass

Firelite is a transparent crystallized super heat resistant glass only 5mm thick.

Developed by Nippon Electric Glass Co Ltd Japan, Firelite is extremely unusual in that its thermal expansion coefficient is zero.

Firelite is suitable for fire rated walls and openings that require up to 3 hours fire rating.

Firelite is able to withstand a fast temperature rise and heated to 800°C will not crack due to the impact shock of cold water.

Tests carried out were stopped at 241 minutes - Structural Adequacy / Not applicable – Integrity 3 Hours / Insulation- Not applicable Achieved to AS 1530.4 achieved Fire Resistant Level – FRL -/180/- for exposure of fire from either direction.
